EXTOL Released EXTOL Business Integrator 4 this month. EBI 4 looks and feels like EBI 3.2.3 but with new functionality and features.

What's new about 4:

Server Clustering

EBI supports a clustered server environment facilitating distributed server architecture, multi-queue capability, configurable load balancing, and process prioritization.

The Server Cluster offers components that perform separate tasks to accommodate increased performance. Each of its three nodes -Coordinator, Receiver, and Worker - access files located on a common file system and distributes tasks among the multiple machines in the distributed server architecture.

A new activity monitor view provides a detailed display of active processes, queues, and job throughput for both Single Server and Server Clusters.

Configurable queue options include assignment, prioritization, and volume adjustment of incoming and outgoing resource allocation.

New Features:

  • Access Control :: Access Control provides remote EBI Server security through the creation and configuration of role-based user permissions. A dedicated Admin Console view allows you to enable or disable users from having access to specific server functionality, and provides an easy-to-use interface for managing users, roles, and passwords. Optional Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) authentication can also be configured to allow users to log in using their established network credentials.
  • Email Receive Monitors :: The Email Receive Monitor works by polling for and capturing data directly from an email attachment or email body. The data is passed to an Event, which launches a Business Process and begins the transformation process in EBI.
  • Email Send Adapters :: The Email Send Adapter improves the existing SendEmail Business Process task, which sends an email to one email address only. The Email Send Adapter supports sending emails to multiple recipients through multiple email server connectivity.
